Fine Cut donate materials to The Alchemist

Tuesday, 4 August 2009

With a firm belief that all companies operating today should carefully consider their impact on this earth, Fine Cut have recently recycled their excess label materials by donating them all to'Alchemist Scrap Store', which is a local materials resource centre for community groups.

As Fine Cut evolve and adopt the lean management & manufacturing techniques which are being implemented company wide, it was deemed essential to reduce the excess stock material we have for label manufacture. During the recent factory move around it was established that we were holding onto excess amounts of ribbons and foil commonly used for our Foil Printed Labels. Environmental Manager Tim Weeks expressed that we must dispose of this waste ethically and environmentally, so the discovery of the 'Alchemist' on the same industrial estate gave Fine Cut the opportunity to not only reduce our excess material stock but also donate to a worthy charitable institution.

As a registered charity the 'Alchemist Scrap Store' aims to divert waste from the landfill and to provide community and educational groups with a cheap, safe and reliable source of art and craft materials. Environmental Manager Tim Weeks said "this is the perfect solution to our excess material stock issue. We were happy to donate all of our materials to this worthy charity so the local community can benefit from what we would consider waste, but others would consider a resource. This type of charitable donation is a benefit to all and the type of scheme we endeavor to support as we as a company take increasing measures to improve our carbon footprint and impression on this fragile world".
